Your driver will pick you up at the Explorers Village and transfer you by road to the Sable Sands Lodge in Hwange.
Built on a rich cultural and artistic legacy, and sheltered by the stunning Sikumi forest, on the edge of the world-famous Hwange National Park, on a private concession with stunning views over the Dete Vlei, stands the beautiful photographic safari ‘village’ known as Sable Sands.
You will stay at the Lodge for the next 3 nights and enjoy the Hwange National Park and its wildlife and nature close up.

Indulge in the great meals served at Sable Sands Lodge and explore the bush of Hwange National Park with its fine wildlife on day and night game drives with professional guides.
This African forest home also has a refreshing swimming pool, a stunning main building with dining area, lounge, loft, library, bar and terraced landscaping. From here you overlook the famous Dete Vlei, the long dried up river, which today frequently hosts wildlife visitors at the water holes. Here you have a chance of seeing sable antelope, giraffe, zebra and big herds of elephant and buffalo, lion, cheetah, painted dog, jackal and more. The Vlei is also renowned for its incredible bird population, believed to be no less than 350 different species in all.
Please note that National Parks fees for activities inside the Hwange National Parks (and not on the concession) are possible but excluded and are to be paid for at Sable Sands.

Rhino Lodge is situated on the shores of Lake Kariba, a massive man made lake formed by the damming of the mighty Zambezi River in the late 1950’s. It is also situated within the Matusadona National Park, a remote wilderness area which has been designated as an Intensive Protection Zone for a small but successful population of the endangered black rhino.

The remoteness of this protected area combined with the plentiful water supply provided by the lake combine to make the Matusadona home to a wide variety of wild animals. The big five: black rhino, elephant, lion, leopard and buffalo are all found here. Hippo and crocodile and a wide variety of water birds make use of the lake. Kudu, Warthog, Zebra, Bush buck, Impala, and numerous antelope species as well as over 350 documented bird species are also here. The call of the African Fish Eagle will never be forgotten, nor that of the Ground Hornbill. Vultures, bateleurs, storks, geese, ducks, plovers and other water birds abound.
Enjoy your last breakfast and maybe a last morning activity before you head back to Victoria Falls Airport. By boat you will be transfered to Rokari Airstrip. Hop on a charter flight to Victoria Falls Airport for your connecting flights. End of Safari.
